  • Primarily responsible for developing and maintaining database artifacts that meet requirements
  • Actively participates in analysis and design
  • Identifies ambiguities, issues with requirements and design and provides feedback to Team Lead for elaboration and improvement
  • Create stables, stored procedures, views, triggers, scripts and/or other entities in conformance to specified requirements and design
  • Ensures adherence to company standards and best practices
  • Performs bug fixing in a manner that minimizes chances of bug re-occurrence or possibility of other undesired side effects
  • Creates reproducible unit tests and performs unit testing to ensure that the assigned work products meet requirements
  • Performs query optimization and performance tuning
  • Involved in monitoring of live database servers, logs, DB spaces etc. for preventive maintenance and continuous interrupted service delivery
  • Provides prompt support to customers, both internal and external, effectively resolving issues, in coordination with relevant groups
  • Continuously strives to enhance maintainability of code and database entities, and provides feedback and suggestions to the Team Lead for possible improvements
  • May assist Team Lead in performing impact analysis for software change requests
  • May assist in writing specifications and creating other process artifacts relevant to his/her scope
  • May participate in process definition and improvement efforts in coordination with Quality Engineering, for relevant process areas
