Job Purpose:

To be responsible for the recruitment function in order to meet the strategic business objectives. He / she plays a strategic role into planning, developing and directing the human resources function in the company to attract, retain, develop and motivate employees in a cost effective manner in accordance to labor laws, policies and procedures.

Main Activities:

- Develops and prepares the company strategic plan related to the recruitment function including establishing a computerized recruitment system (HRMS).

- Maintains and implements a database management and e-recruitment systems with regards to candidates and their application status.

- Be aware of employment trends and forecasts of the markets through surveys analysis and collection of necessary data.

- Ensure all Qatarisation requirements are being fulfilled and that an accurate and complete database and communication log is kept. The Labor Department must be responded to with require details.

- Be responsible of the recruitment and staffing budget. Be aware of the payroll costs related to the manpower budget per department.

- Manages the recruitment function and develops and implements recruiting systems and procedures in order to attract best-qualified candidates in a timely manner.

- Plans, controls and assists Heads of Department in the preparation of the company’s manning guide budget and ensures that staffing levels are in line with the annual manning guide budget.

- Develops, implements and continually reviews HR policies & procedures, practices and personnel administration systems, updating and or recommending improvements as appropriate to management.

- Undertakes proper selection and interviewing techniques ensuring notes and back up material is provided for every application. Ie Application form, resume, photographs, reference checks, copies of qualifications and ensuring that no visa restrictions are apparent.

- That Behavior Interviewing and Selection techniques are used and any appropriate psychometric tools to aid in the overall process of finding the right candidate. Such techniques should be trained to all the recruitment team and Department Heads.

- Ensure that a “Talent Bank” is kept up to date and it is the first point of call when searching for suitable candidates

- Manages the staff directly reporting to him or her.

- Keeps abreast with the Labor Laws and makes recommendation as appropriate.

- Be aware of Qatar Labor Law and relocation requirements.

- To source qualified and well experienced staff to the UDC business activities

- To prepare and implement policies and procedures for all recruitment activities.

- Maintain a database of recruitment consultants and track their usefulness.

- Attend and organize UDC’s participation in career/job fairs as alternative source of talents.

- To undertake any other duties that may be required as determined by the Supervisor or Manager.

Applications are invited to fill a vacancy within the British Embassy, Riyadh. The position is Personal Assistant to HM Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This position will only be available to holders of Saudi residence permits or transferable iqamas and for whom security clearance can be granted (UK, other EU, US, Australian, Canadian or New Zealand nationals).

To provide first-class secretarial and administrative support to the Ambassador: effective organisation and management of the day-to-day running of the Ambassador’s office, delegation of correspondence/invitations etc where appropriate and ensuring the smooth operation of HMA’s workload and office.

The main duties and responsibilities of the jobholder include:

• Organise and maintain HMA’s diary, including setting up meetings, appointments and travel. Production and distribution of daily and forward programmes.

• Liaison with all other Embassy sections. Co-ordinate and organise HMA’s regional and UK visits. Request and ensure relevant paperwork and briefing available in good time.

• Organisation of incoming and outgoing visitor programmes.

• Co-ordination of preparation for events.

• Typing of all HMA correspondence, from audio and manuscript (shorthand a plus, but not a necessity). Formatting of drafts and other documents, copying, despatch and electronic registering.

• Drafting of correspondence.

• Dealing with telephone enquiries, mail, invitations, letters and requests, including occasional out-of-hours calls by mobile phone.

• Management of HMA’s office during absences – delegation of correspondence as appropriate, holding replies and papers organised for return.

Applications

The salary will be dependent on experience and will be in the range of SAR9,187.50 – SAR13,775 per month including housing/recruitment and retention allowance. A pro-rata Eid bonus will be payable. An additional travel allowance of SAR400 may also be payable. The job is subject to security clearance.

Applications must be submitted by the end of Wednesday 16 November. Interviews will take place soon afterwards.

British Embassy in Riyadh is recruiting for a Finance Officer. Duties will include:-

• Profile Saudi Arabia Budget.

• Maintain monthly spend analysis for 3 UK posts across Saudi Arabia.

• Line management of the Accounts team.

• Monthly IT update of spend forecast and budget allocations.

• Maintain forecast spend plans with input from the Head of Corporate Services and other key stakeholders.

• Forecast potential underspend / overspend accurately and proactively.

• Prepare checks / spreadsheets required by the Head of Corporate Services and the Ambassador for month end reports.

• Manage the Embassy account.

• Prepare various management returns for the FCO.
