Manager Supply Chain in Shabbir Tiles & Ceramics Ltd
This position manages the supply chain (from suppliers to dealer & customers) and strives to deliver the right product to the right time at the least total supply chain cost. The incumbent manages the following functions:
- Master planning, ware house management, logistics and distribution. In addition, this position is responsible for inventory and order fulfillment performance.
- Monitors production vs. plan, inventory levels (days on hand), Dealer service levels, capacity utilization, forecast accuracy, on time delivery, purchase price variance and other key performance metrics and takes appropriate action when necessary to meet objectives.
- Directs, coordinates and plans the warehouse storage and distribution of the products and materials within a company.
- Manages supply chain activities for all raw materials, components, finished product, inventory and lean processes.
- Process Dealer sales orders and coordinating with various departments to ensure they are delivered on time.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality and Technical teams in regards to inventory control.
- Develops strategies and efficient plans to utilize production capabilities, while satisfying demands and minimizing total supply chain costs.
- Develops a Master Plan to balance supply and demand and raises issues in a timely manner to ensure forecasted demand can be fulfilled cost effectively and that capacity is being properly utilized.
- Accountable for timely delivery of materials and services to support the demand plan.
- Develops strategies to maximize Dealer service when supply disruptions or shortages are anticipated (e.g. substitute materials, alternate methods, new sources, rationing, allocations, etc.)
- Develops inventory strategies for new product launches to ensure product availability, prevent stock outs and to minimize excess and obsolete inventories.
- Determines what materials need to be delivered and when in order to achieve desired customer service levels, while minimizing inventory investment and total supply chain costs.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships throughout the supply chain from suppliers to Dealers & customers to negotiate implement and maintain supply contracts when deemed necessary.
- Financially responsible for departmental budgets, material standard costs and inventory forecasts, while ensuring performance to budget.
- Direct and coordinate the activities of department personnel to provide uninterrupted flow of material from receiving to inventory, to fulfillment, to shipping.
- Ensure efficient and economical utilization of materials, timely deliveries from suppliers, improvement of methods and elimination of wasteful practices.
- Drive continuous improvement to documented processes and procedures.
- Responsible for participation in the development of strategic planning and implementation for Materials Supply Chain procedures.
- Devises methods to insure the most economical movement of materials in/out of the plant
- Directs materials staff to insure objectives, schedules and budgets are achieved. Also, ensure individual performance goals and personal development action plans are achieved.
