The Australian College of Kuwait is a dual sector institution providing diplomas and degrees that are internationally recognised in engineering.

Applications are invited from engineering professionals to join our expanding Engineering programs as a Lab Technician, commencing as soon as possible.

Main responsibilities:

• Prepares teaching and learning material and sets up equipment as required for laboratory classes.

• Carries out minor repairs and routine maintenance on laboratory equipment to ensure proper and safe operational condition.

• Fabricate equipment and teaching aids where appropriate with the assistance of instructors.

• Purchases and installs equipment as required and as per the approval of the Head of Department.

• Registers, tracks, and maintains an inventory list of all ACK lab equipment and tools.

• Ensures proper storage of equipment and tools adhering to safety and security rules and regulations.

• Must relate effectively with instructors, students and administrative staff.

• Follow the ACK Occupational Health and Safety policy.

• Undertake other duties as directed by the head of Engineering.

2. Management of full spectrum of HR including recruitment, staffing, performance management, compensation/benefits functions, etc.

3. Implement HR Personnel administration activities in the organization to update employees’ personal records like contract of employment, medical insurance, social security, etc. through strict adherence to approved policies & procedures.

4. Give briefing to new recruits so that they are quickly integrated into the organization by acquiring essential knowledge in the different administration process & procedures.

5. Assist and train subordinates in order to transfer substantial know-how in all administration activities.

6. Facilitate evaluation discussion with subordinates whenever applicable, according to the Organization’s evaluation manual through open discussion to establish employees’ development and performance awareness.

7. Oversee personnel administration activities like personal files, records, salary increase, etc. through efficient, effective & equitable implementation of the policies and standards of the company.

General Description

Performs start up and/or troubleshoots existing Parkson equipment and control systems / instrumentation at customer’s location to optimized desired equipment performance. Responsible for responding to customer issues and needs related to products or processes. Quickly assesses and understands customer’s needs, the appropriate solution and the manner in which Parkson can deliver a solution. Furthermore, uses detailed knowledge and personal credibility gained from the customer interaction to successfully close sales orders while creating high level of customer satisfaction. Performs other related duties as required.

Job Duties/ Responsibilities

• Identify, design and implement improvements to products/equipment, in water, and waste water treatment plants. Directs efforts to increase output, reduce variation, mitigate risks to eliminate downtime, and create cost savings for plant operations.

• Assumes responsibility for the design, set-up and execution of pilot-scale water treatment system testing at locations nationwide.

• Performs preventative maintenance, site surveys, installations and modifications as needed or requested by customers.

• Performs operational training of equipment to customer at site location as needed.

• Coordination with suppliers and quality control on process related issues.

• Provide test support in-house and at customer sites.

• Analyze field data processing and product issues at site and remotely via telephone.

• Work as part of an existing technical support team involved in daily troubleshooting and correction of issues.

• Understand the customer’s water or waste water treatment process and develop test protocols to best demonstrate applicability of treatment systems.

• Work independently on in-house and field projects.

• Prepare documentation related to procedures, training, work instructions, detailed engineering reports for submittal to external consultants, etc.

• Apply knowledge or automation, controls and instrumentation.

• Travel required – 80 – 90%, including international travel

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Civil, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, plus a minimum of 3 – 5 years work experience. Advanced degree a plus.
