Shift Manager – Power Station Operations

  • Reporting to the Production Manager, the post holder shall provide cover & assistance to the duty Shift Managers (following a shift rota) in accordance with the following:

    • Lead the Plant Operations to ensure that internal operation interfaces with other departments and external interface with Wapda, PSO and Hubco are managed effectively in terms of PPA, FSA and OMA.

      • Manages the day to day operations of the plant, including Safety Rules system for employees and contractors and safety coordination across the station boundaries.

        • Will ensure that the Operations department responds effectively to the operational demands of the station, implementation of all operational policies and practices which secure optimum thermal efficiency, commercial availability and operational economy; supporting these, as appropriate, with effective loss control practices.

          • Will provide support and manage the succession management process across the shift teams. A key managerial thrust will be to improve motivation, productivity and commitment of the staff and further develop the interface between operational and maintenance activities.

            • Will ensure that Production department?s targets & objectives are met whilst contributing to station objectives.

              • The individual should have a minimum of three years experience in fire fighting in a large organization/industry.

                • The candidate must have worked on Fire Fighting Engines and should be aware of all the techniques involved in a fire fighting and rescuing safely.

                  • The candidate having knowledge of fixed Fire Protection Systems and BA (breathing apparatus) usage will be preferred.

                    • The candidate must at least be an Intermediate from a recognized institution and preferably be trained with certification from a Fire Fighting institution.

                      • Because of the nature of the job preference will be given to young and energetic people within age bracket of 25-35 years.

                        • Ability to demonstrate physical fitness is an essential criterion.
