They are seeking to hire a Business Editor for monthly business magazine. A Dubai–based media & publishing company is seeking to recruit a Business Editor for its award–winning monthly business magazine. The ideal candidate must have at least five to six years of business reporting and editing experience at a daily newspaper and/or magazine. A strong background in investigative journalism is a must. So Its an intimate knowledge of the capital markets and the Middle Eastern economy. The Business Editor is first and foremost the magazines chief correspondent. As such, he is expected to pitch story ideas to the managing editor on a rolling basis. He will write at least three comprehensive, feature–length articles every month. He will write shorter, topical pieces of economic and political analysis. He will also be in charge of writing the Business Briefs. He will have superb organizational skills. He will make deadlines and ensure that his team of correspondents (both local and abroad) adheres to similar deadlines in an environment where change is the only constant. A familiarity with the Gulfs financial community is vital. He must be equally at ease talking to a Fortune 500 CEO or a blue–collar worker. He will bridge the gap between the West and the Middle East in his corporate and economic coverage. This is a full–time, permanent position based in Dubai, UAE. No distance editors or freelancers need apply. Salary: USD 40,000 to 45,000/– (based on experience) per year + company sponsorship + company medical insurance.
