Build strong relationships with Technical Operations team in order to effectively and efficiently carry out all necessary systems administration tasks, with sole responsibility for supporting the design/planning team.
Participate in or leading projects in close coordination with other IT teams
Plan and carry out systems and network infrastructure projects with general direction from management (server consolidation, internal systems creation or improvement).

Provide internal teams with support and act as a consultant where necessary
Installs, configures and tests databases on Enterprise platforms.
Assists in the analysis and design of new database systems ensuring adherence to technical standards, data standards and integration with other data sources.
Installs, configures, tests and maintains database management software, database utilities and layered products including the application of patches and upgrades ensuring that version control procedures are observed and supplier and user documentation is maintained.
Monitors database activity and ensures efficient access to data, working with data analysis and database design functions where appropriate. Undertakes regular exercises to optimise database performance.
Implements, monitors and maintains database security and data integrity controls in accordance with system security policies.
Plans and implements procedures for backup and restore of databases, ensuring backups have been successfully executed according to schedule, planning and managing exercises to prove recovery procedures. Implements recovery procedures when necessary.
Ensures that database problems are investigated, diagnosed and resolved, referring to database users, other IT personnel and suppliers as necessary.
Contributes to the setting of standards for database objects (e.g. naming conventions) and ensures conformance to these standards.
Prepare and maintain technical procedures for database hardware and software.
