PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To perform all necessary characterization and tests concerning LDPE & LLDPE grades and blends and works in order to develop new grades and improve the existing ones. To conduct trial tests for LDPE & LLDPE and customer samples by using the application center machines.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Performs characterization test for the Polyolefin grades, their blends and competitors’ grades using different analysis techniques.

Conducts different special trial tests for polyolefin, customer and blend samples by using the application center machines such as Blow & Injection Molding, Pipe Extrusion, Weathering tester etc..For research, development customers claims and Investigation purpose.

Supports the Technical Customers Services to plan and carry on special analysis projects and benchmarking study between QAPCO polyolefin grades and equivalent grades produced by other producers.

Perform testing for new developed LDPE & LLDPE grades before launching those products in the market.

Performs all necessary calibration for the apparatus and testing equipment used to test and analyze polymers and their final products.

Maintains the Characterization and Application Laboratory equipment in good working conditions by following up the preventive Maintenance and Calibration programs.

Performs other related duties concerning the Characterization and Application activities as ensure the implementation of results quality assurance.

Managers at this level manage and develop subordinates, set, maintain and audit internal rules and guidelines, review and validate prepared reports and analysis, evaluate the performance of the system and take appropriate improvement measures.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBLIGATIONS:

1. Design general guidelines and procedures that ensure the conformity of Butec’s activities to ISO standards, internal requirements and contractual and legal regulations.

2. Review the prepared plans, procedures and instructions for each project and make the appropriate corrections to ensure their alignment to the overall system and applicable requirements.

3. Identify the key actors for the system’s success, enhance their leadership and commitment and prepare the necessary programs that aim to boost people involvement.

4. Develop internal and external communication channels to ensure the proper implementation of the system.

5. Set objectives and action plans, and monitor the operational performance of each project with regards to the preset objectives.

6. Intervene in case of emergencies or major problems and take the appropriate measures to prevent their redundancy.

7. Plan and conduct regular on-site inspections and audits to verify the application of relevant procedures and guidelines and make appropriate recommendations to correct discrepancies.

8. Review submitted reports, undertakes analysis, develop recommendations, and provide professional guidance and support relating to own area of specialty.

9. Provide recommendations regarding the transfer of quality staff in order to fulfil the projects’ needs.

10. Liaise with legal authorities to be constantly up-to-date with applicable requirements and ensure compliance at all levels.

11. Participate in management review meetings to evaluate on-site practices and propose recommendations and alternatives for continual improvement.

12. Provide guidance and support to subordinates and line managers on matters relevant to own area of specialty.

13. Coach subordinates on managerial issues and matters related to planning and cost control in order to higher their responsibilities.

14. Enforce leaning culture at all levels to improve team’s performance and enhance the level of knowledge within the organization.

15. Manage and motivate the team, appraise their work performance and recommend adequate trainings to enhance their motivation and improve their performance.

Overall Summary

To ensure an effective and realistic project schedule and ancillary controls are in place for any give project(s). To support the project managers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. To ensure an effective and realistic project &/or bid schedule is prepared and approved, and that project constraints and assumptions are clearly identified.

2. To develop, or expand the already developed, WBS and ensure that 100% of the scope is included, leading workshops with relevant experts where required.

3. To manage the project budget, ensuring that job numbers and budget estimates are collated, approved by the end users & then approved by project managers.

4. To liaise with Work Package Engineers, using the WBS as a guideline, to develop activities and resource loading. To ensure referential integrity between resources schedule activities & schedule resource loading vs. progress tracking tools used by the Work Package Engineers.

5. To highlight any challenges foreseen in the workload planned by comparing to previous achievements and studying resource loads.

6. To ensure the project is accurately front-lined bi-weekly.

7. To ensure that project managers are advised of any key deviations & their impacts.

8. To suggest and corrective measures for delay mitigation.

9. To provide management and client reports as necessary.
